A "delivered" status is not always enough to understand what actually happened. The goal is to reconstruct the facts before contacting the seller or the carrier.
Start with the simplest elements
- Delivery address: compare the address on the order with the one actually used.
- Date and time of the status: take a screenshot of the tracking.
- Indicated location: mailbox, neighbor, drop-off point, building manager, or other location.
- Available proof: photo, signature, code, or information provided by the carrier.
- Exact order: verify that it is not a partial parcel when an order consists of multiple shipments.
What delivery rules allow you to verify
The Ministry of the Economy reminds us that the seller must provide a delivery date or timeframe in a clear manner. In the event of a delay, several steps can be taken depending on the context, including requesting fulfillment within a reasonable additional timeframe and then, under certain conditions, terminating the contract. For a parcel declared delivered but not received, the priority is first to establish the facts and keep evidence.
Classify your situation
Confirmed: the parcel has been found or reliable proof allows the delivery to be precisely identified.
Probable: the tracking and carrier details are consistent, but the delivery remains to be confirmed.
To be verified: the status is "delivered" without sufficiently usable proof, or the address / time / location does not match.
Prepare a useful request
Gather your order number, tracking, address, status screenshot, amount, communications, and any available evidence. A structured request is more useful than a simple "I haven't received my package" message.
Avoid three frequent mistakes
- Waiting several days without saving the tracking, which may change.
- Confusing the carrier and the seller without verifying who should handle your request in your situation.
- Presenting a theft or a delivery error as certain without proof.
