How AfterSentry verifies its guides and information

AfterSentry wants to be helpful without turning a general rule into an individual certainty. This methodology describes how public guides, reference pages, and information used to explain post-purchase situations are prepared.

1. Priority given to first-hand sources

For consumer rules in France, AfterSentry prioritizes official sources: ministries, DGCCRF, Service-Public.fr, Légifrance, RappelConso, and other competent authorities. Press articles, forums, blogs, and commercial content can help understand an issue, but do not replace an official source when a legal or regulatory rule is described.

2. A visible review date

Reference pages that depend on rules likely to change display a last reviewed date. An old page must be rechecked before being presented as a reference on a sensitive point.

3. Fact, estimate, and hypothesis remain distinct

AfterSentry uses a logic of confidence levels. Information directly confirmed by a reliable source is not presented in the same way as a calculated date, an unverified merchant policy, or a hypothesis deduced from an incomplete document.

4. Exceptions are retained

A simple rule like "14 days" may have exceptions. AfterSentry content must therefore specify the scope of the rule and avoid absolute wording when the law or contract provides for special cases.

5. No promise of results

AfterSentry is neither an insurer nor a law firm and does not guarantee that a refund, repair, or other request will succeed. The role of the product is to organize the facts, evidence, deadlines, sources, and useful next actions.

6. AfterSentry Verified: measuring only what succeeded

A detected or announced amount does not automatically become a gain. An outcome is counted in the Verified metrics only when it is confirmed. This rule avoids turning potential opportunities into artificially inflated marketing results.

7. Corrections

When an official source changes or published information becomes inaccurate, the page concerned must be updated. Reference pages must maintain wording precise enough to allow the source of the described rule to be found.

8. Independence

The mention of a merchant, carrier, manufacturer, or service in a guide implies neither affiliation nor approval. Help content must remain separate from AfterSentry's potential commercial interests.

What this method changes for the user

  • important sources are identifiable;
  • uncertain information remains presented as such;
  • dates are linked to their context;
  • potential results are not confused with obtained results;
  • content can be reviewed when rules change.
